PARC values its work with legislators on initiatives that enhance the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For information about PARC’s current legislative platform, please call 727-341-6961.
PARC knows that people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve the same fundamental rights as people living without. Simply agreeing that people with a disability should have a right to live and work in the community of their choice, be provided the same supports necessary to live productive and satisfying lives, and be valued citizens who enrich the lives of those around them is not advocacy. Advocacy is turning this passive support into informed action.
PARC is a member of Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (Florida ARF). Florida ARF is a statewide, professional industry association that provides advocacy, information, and networking for individuals with disabilities and the community agencies that serve them. Florida ARF is a leader in the initiation of public policy change to promote and protect the interests of individuals with disabilities as well as the community agencies that provide quality services to individuals with disabilities. Florida ARF provides its members with factual and timely information, making its membership the best-informed and most effective influencers of systems change in their respective communities.
