Children’s Services at the Discovery Learning Center

The Discovery Learning Center

The Discovery Learning Center utilizes experienced special education, therapeutic, and support staff to provide early intervention to children “at risk” for developmental delays and children who are developmentally disabled.

The Homebound Program

The Homebound Program provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers whose parents choose a natural environment. A qualified early intervention teacher works with the child and family in their own home.  Children with fragile medical conditions may also receive homebound services.

The Thoresen Foundation Rainforest Therapy Center

The Rainforest Therapy Center offers speech, physical and occupational therapies as part of this unique and stimulating environment.

The Margaret E. Dickins Children's Technology Center and Sensory Room

The Margaret E. Dickins Children's Technology Center and Sensory Room enables every child to explore and learn to use specially adapted toys and computers.

Respite Care

Respite care, temporary relief for families and caregivers, is a service in which care is provided to children with disabilities and/or to children at risk of abuse and neglect. Respite can occur in the child's home and can occur for any length of time depending on the needs of the family and available resources (for a maximum of 20 hours per month).
