Brave Kids Family Resource Center
PARC is ready to open a Resource Center within the Cultural Arts Center Library, as a partner with Brave Kids. As parents of their young and adult children work with physicians and other professionals, PARC will be an available resource offering a site relevant to developmental disabilities to conduct further research.
Brave Kids was founded on June 9, 1999, by Kristen Fitzgerald, after the loss of her two children to catastrophic illnesses. The Brave Kids program has been approved by and is linked to over 110 health organizations such as: The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, The National Brain Tumor Foundation, The National Pediatric AIDS Foundation, United Cerebral Palsy, and the National Children’s Cancer Society.
Because of Brave Kids commitment we will be equipped with additional computers, printers and materials to enable parents and caregiver to locate immediate information and resources relevant to their concerns and questions.
PARC leads the way to provide information in an environment surrounded with knowledgeable staff and volunteers. The Resource Center provides an additional opportunity for PARC staff to offer parents and caregivers a much needed service allowing them to expand their knowledge of developmental disabilities.
