On Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the PARC 40th Anniversary Black Tie – Ruby Ball over 400 beautifully dressed guests were greeted at the door by Co-Chairs Cheryl & Gary Sanchez and Sue & Tim Brett  along with Sue Buchholtz, CEO and Tino Mastry, Board Chair, as they filled the Palm Court Room of the Renaissance Vinoy, eagerly awaiting the introduction of the 2009 13 Magnetic Men.

The room was dazzling with ruby themed adornments and candelabra’s brimming with fresh red roses from Redman Steele Floral Design Studio.  Music by Hologram filled the air as guests sipped champagne in hopes of winning a 3k ruby from Diamonds Direct Fine Jewelers, Inc., bid on silent auction items, took chances on winning a one of a kind Debbie Brooks clutch purse and had their photos taken by Maddock Photography in front of a sponsor laden backdrop!   The casino was filled with those hoping to win big as Black Jack and Poker tables proved to be the most popular games of chance.

Reginald Roundtree seated the crowd for a delicious dinner and Dick Crippen quickly auctioned off six items – the sentimental favorite – a painting by a PARC Fine Arts Studio student, Danny H.  Mr. and Mrs. Tom James’ winning bid made them the proud new owners of Danny’s masterpiece.  Dick also introduced the recipients of the PARC annual awards.  These award winners were presented with plaques for their outstanding volunteer and philanthropic endeavors.

To round out the evening the 2009 13 Magnetic Men were presented to the community amid accolades of their accomplishments.  2008 Mrs. Florida United States escorted each gentleman to his designated place on stage and presented him with a 13MM lapel pin and a swag bag filled with goodies.  With the entire presentation being concluded in just one hour, the rest of the evening was left for fun for everyone!
