Parents, Guardians and Friends of PARC (PG&F)
Started in July 2000, Parents, Guardians and Friends of PARC was created by parents to help family members stay informed and involved in the daily lives of their loved ones who live and/or attend programs at PARC.
PG&F Meetings
Meetings are designated to provide a social setting that allows members to network with each other, to feature informative speakers or relevant topics and to foster open communication with PARC administration. LARC is a non-profit organization founded in 1964 by a group of concerned women who saw a need to assist in providing a better future for individuals with developmental disabilities in a PARC sponsored program.
LARC has grown over the years and its fund raising activities have become an integral part of the success of PARC programs. LARC members contribute 1,500 volunteer hours annually to various PARC programs, activities and departments. In addition, funds raised by LARC have provided special equipment and vehicles and have enabled PARC to initiate new programs.
Annually, members hold a Phantom Ball, Casino Night, and a Wine Tasting. In addition, LARC sponsors a preschool holiday party and sing-a-long as well as the adult holiday party for PARC residences.
If you are interested in becoming a LARC or learning more about LARC, please call Patty Bowen at 727-525-9841.
United Way of Tampa Bay helps people overcome challenges and barriers to succeed. For many, success means finding a job. For low income parents, it means finding affordable child care for their kids. For under-educated adults, it means learning how to read and write. For the disabled, it’s about participating fully in community life. For seniors, it means getting the support they need to live healthy in their own homes. For the homeless it means getting off the street and having a good place to stay.
