As one of the largest providers in Florida, there will be detrimental and dangerous impacts on individuals with developmental disabilities if these cuts remain in effect. Individuals continue to be at risk for losing services, their jobs and their homes.
PARC will continue to make the best decisions that have minimal effects on individuals with a developmental disability but if these ill-conceived decisions in Tallahassee continue PARC will be forced to reduce services and potentially give notice for the closure of some services. Please contact your elected officials and tell them to support the House position to fund APD’s current fiscal year deficit and stop these devastating cuts immediately.
For 58 years, PARC has offered pivotal services to adults and children with developmental disabilities which have significantly improved quality of life and promoted independence and self-reliance. It is our hope that our legislators will continue to remember that these vulnerable citizens need their support and we hope these catastrophic funding cuts will be re-evaluated and funds restored.
